For the Record

Every year, on the last day of school, I make a goal not to lose my temper or yell at my kids for the entire summer.  This year I actually did it!  If you ask my kids what I want most in our home they will tell you that I want peace.

Cross It Off Her Bucket List

Alyssa has been wanting to ride in a hot air balloon for years.  She finally got her chance!

Sand Harbor at Lake Tahoe

This is one of Ben's absolute favorite places in the world.  He would love to live in Incline Village just up the road.  While I agree that Lake Tahoe is beautiful, I do not share his enthusiasm about living here.  If the water were 30° warmer I might consider it.

Completely Worn Out

Ziplines, mini motorcycles, quads, games, a splash pad, blackberries, exploring in the woods and doing crafts wore the kids out completely on our first day in Washington.  Alyssa fell asleep during scripture study, Ayzha fell asleep on the floor not long after and we made it almost the entire day without the kids playing any video games.  Success!

Enjoy the Journey

Our detour to Silverwood made our drive to Washington extra long.  The kids were not happy that we didn't take the most direct route.  They were also not happy that we stopped off a couple times to enjoy some beautiful vistas.  I hope one day they will realize that life is not all about the destination.  It is more about learning to enjoy the Journey.
