Burg Kalifa

Ben's trip to Dubai started out somewhat disastrous.  Nearly 24 hours after takeoff, with layovers in L.A. and Paris he finally landed in Dubai.  Once there, he was informed that his luggage didn't make the flight and was handed a small bag with a few toiletries.  To make matters worse, his accomodations lacked hot running water or a "real' mattress.   The conference he was sent to attend required "business attire," but since his luggage hadn't arrived, Ben showed up in the clothes he had been wearing since he left home.  Luckily they let him in anyways.  After the conference he did some sight seeing.  He's got a thing for skyscrapers, and Burg Kalifa (the tallest structure in the world) didn't disappoint, except that tours to the top were sold out the entire duration of his stay.  Things got better after that though...his luggage came in the middle of the night, and he switched hotels.  Now he's living it up at the Atlantis, in a fresh new pair of undies.  From rags to riches...livin it up!

I may have won the battle, but I'm still fighting the war.  It took me 4 months to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight....however, things aren't what they used to be.  Time to get it all toned up!!!

Ben's been taking a lot of business trips lately.  In the past 6 months he's been to Florida, Long Beach and San Diego, California, Montreal and Calgary, Canada, Arkansas, Bolivia, Chile, and now he's in Dubai.  Where will he be off to next? 

7 Years Old!

 

 

  

The years seem to be flying by, sweet Alyssa turned 7 on Tuesday.  We had her "Brave" themed birthday party at her dad's house two days early.  There was a little problem with her cake, it melted, but other than that, it was a lot of fun.  On her birthday we took Alyssa to breakfast at Krispy Kreme, and spent the afternoon jumping around like crazy at Hang Time, then her dad took her to dinner.  Happy Birthday Alyssa!!!

Q rolled over for his first time today...he rolled right off the ottoman and onto the floor...and screamed like crazy.  Love this little guy!!!

An EX-tra Quiet Christmas

This year the older kids were with our exes so it was extra quiet around our place. We celebrated Christmas with our sweet little stud.

After opening our presents we stopped by to see Ayzha, Tiago, and Reyn.  We then headed to my parent's house to see my family.  Sarah and her family dropped by for a bit.  Late afternoon Q took his first ride on a plane, we went to Washington so Ben's family could meet him.  The highlight of the trip for me was getting to see The Hobbit.  I absolutely loved it!  We flew back home in time for New Years and got to have our whole family together again at a fun new years eve party hosted by Tara. Goodbye 2012...excited to see what surprises 2013 will bring...
