Alyssa, Holly, Q, Ben and I have become "medical heros." We've each been involved in medical research studies to earn money. We brought in several thousand dollars.
We've been building our old Lego sets, making sure they have all the pieces, then we sell them on Ebay. One set brought in $250.
We spent some time decluttering our house and then held a garage sale. We probably made 1k that day.
We sold our old car. 
We had several pet stains on our carpets that needed to be cleaned. I tried, to get them out, but nothing seemed to work. I had been wanting to hire someone to come clean the carpets, but it was just too expensive. I was able to do some research to find ways to get out the tough set in stains and instead of paying someone to clean our carpets, we borrowed a Hoover carpet cleaner and did it ourselves. The stains aren't fully gone, but they look a lot better and this saved us another thousand dollars. (Tip, Biokleen Bac-Out and Folex do a great job on stains. However, clean up messes immediately. It's a lot easier to get out stains before they set in.)
We had some mold and mildew in the shower. I thought maybe we needed to replace the caulk, but I did some research and found a spray that killed all the mold (RMR-86). It only cost a few dollars to fix the problem. I also learned how to perm Qyntn's hair, so we didn't have to pay someone to do it.
We are thinking about helping Q start a little business. He would rent out inflatables.
We are also considering renting out our house. We would move into a more affordable apartment and hopefully make enough each month to pay the mortgage and most of our rent.
