Lord of the Rings Birthday Party

This year Holly chose to have a Lord of the Rings/Hobbit birthday party.  She really wanted to dress up as Gollum and wanted the rest of us to dress up too.  I'm not big on costumes, but wanted to make her happy, this is what we came up with...

Last month Ben made a quick pit stop in Hawaii, and now he's off to Hamburg, Germany.  It's super quiet around here without him.

Spring "BREAK"?

Spring break might be a break for the kids, but not for me.  With all six kids together I get a little wound up, actually, I feel like a ticking time bomb.  I try to make these occasions as fun as possible, but it's a lot of work and highly stressful.  Luckily I was able to keep it together most of the week, and when I did go off, my blast radius didn't go very far.  Here is a rundown of our spring 'break"...

Night one:  Movie night:  "Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King"
Day two:  2 Easter Egg Hunts, Easter Bunny Bottle craft, egg coloring and movie night: "The Hobbit"
Day three:  Easter morning baskets and egg hunt, Cinnabon breakfast, church, dinner with Grandma and Grandpa, Uga Buga club, more easter egg hunts, and a "Sacred Celebration".
Day Four:  Roller Skating and a Real Salt Lake soccer game
Day Five:  Movie night:  "The Croods"
Day Six:  Swimming at the Lehi Aquatic Center, origami, and Chuck-a-Rama
Day Seven:  This is the Place Heritage Park, Lion House, Temple Square, sleepover at the Tate's
Day Eight:  Lava Hot Springs, square ice cream, and Maddox

Sometimes I try to wax poetic on my birthdays, and maybe I'll do that again next year, but today I just want to say that I had a great birthday.  I feel very loved, and won't be taking back any of my gifts... thanks guys!

182.5 days...Lovin Each One

Q is six months old.  Looking at his sweet face fills me with joy!  Even though he's still keeping me up all night,  I LOVE this little guy!!!

Crazy Hair Day



 



The girls had crazy hair day last week.  Holly wanted to go all out...she should have let Ben do her hair.  Alyssa didn't want to go crazy at all, but I talked her into a mildly crazy do.  I think they both look super cute!!!

He Split His Breeches

 

Ben had a moment at church today...holding the baby with one arm, feeding him, bracing the bottle under his chin, with the diaper bag over his shoulder, Ben awkwardly squatted down to grab the car seat when BAM, he split his breeches from weiner all the way up the butt crack.  From the look on her face, the lady next to him must have thought he farted loudly.   He quickly grabbed his jacket, wrapped it around his waist and exited the building.  Looks like we need more Insanity and fewer trips to Golden Corral.
